About This Event

Greyhope School and Community Hub is scheduled for a workshop titled 'Textile re-use: An introduction to foundation patchwork'. Various performers will lead this Climate Week Northeast event, which is free to attend.

Join Ishbel Shand for a Climate Week Northeast event: Reduce your textile waste in creative ways!

8-10 percent of global emissions are associated with textiles. 69% of textiles are now made from fossil fuels that don’t degrade, so are disposed of by landfilling, incineration, or by export to poorer countries as “charitable donations” where they create an environmental hazard.

The event will involve a demonstration of how waste textiles can be re-used to make attractive and useful goods. Materials to make a patchwork potholder will be supplied.

Please make yourself known upon arrival at the Greyhope hub.

Description supplied by the event organiser.
