About This Event

The unforgettable music of Hans Zimmer, Elton John, Tim Rice and Lebo M, performed live by the European Symphonic Orchestra & Choir, with African vocalists and percussion. It begins with a voice calling across the savannah. The choir answers, the drums gather, and the music rises like the sun over Pride Rock. Few moments in cinema are as instantly recognisable as Circle of Life, and few soundtracks have captured the imagination of so many generations. Now, the extraordinary music of The Lion King comes to the concert stage. The European Symphonic Orchestra & Choir celebrates the joy, drama and emotion of this beloved story, from the playful exuberance of I Just Can’t Wait to Be King and Hakuna Matata to the darker drama of Be Prepared and the tenderness of Can You Feel the Love Tonight. Powerful African voices bring a special richness to the performance, with stirring renditions of Shadowland and He Lives in You. Together with a full symphony orchestra, choir and the irresistible pulse of African percussion, they capture the remarkable musical spirit of The Lion King, from its most intimate melodies to its most exhilarating moments. For those who remember seeing the original film in cinemas, and for children discovering its magic for the first time, this is an opportunity to share the music of a story that has brought generations together. The story is timeless. The music is unforgettable. And the spirit of the Pride Lands has never felt more alive.
