Celebrate Ken Loach's 90th birthday with a special outdoor screening of Kes at the football club he has supported for decades. There aren't many football clubs that can count one of Britain's greatest filmmakers among their regular supporters. For years, Ken Loach has been a familiar face on the terraces at Bath City F.C.. To mark his 90th birthday, FilmBath is bringing his most celebrated film back to a place that has quietly become part of his own story. Released in 1969, Kes follows Billy Casper, a teenager growing up in a Yorkshire mining town whose life is transformed when he begins training a kestrel. Tender, truthful and deeply humane, it remains one of the defining works of British cinema, continuing to inspire audiences more than half a century after its release. As the sun sets over Twerton Park, the pitch will become the backdrop for a unique outdoor screening, with audiences watching from the comfort of the covered seated stand. It's a rare opportunity to experience a remarkable film in a setting that means something to the filmmaker who made it. Whether you're a lifelong admirer of Kes, a Bath City supporter, or discovering the film for the first time, join us for this one-off evening celebrating Ken Loach, British cinema and the enduring connection between film, football and community. This is a community event and all profits will be split between the football club, FilmBath and local charities of Ken's choice.
