Join Studio Ellie Maya for an exclusive afternoon of contemporary outdoor sculpture, live carving and a delicious tea at the iconic Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath. The afternoon will begin with a curator-led tour of Through the Crescent, our summer sculpture exhibition set within the hotel's beautiful private gardens, with a range of works to enjoy and purchase! Led by curator Ellie Isaacs, you'll discover an exceptional selection of sculptures in stone, ceramic, metal and glass by nine celebrated and leading UK Sculptors. Featured artists: Hannah Bennett, Sue Jones, Benji Lowsley-Williams, Roberta Mason, Alex Relph, Ian Turnock, Dominic Welch, Neil Wilkin & Zoë Wilson Following the tour, enjoy a live stone carving demonstration by acclaimed Hampshire stone carver, Zoë Wilson. Using a traditional mallet and chisel, Zoë hand carves intricate geometric sculptures from British stone. Watch as precise geometric forms emerge from solid stone, offering a rare insight into the patience, precision and craftsmanship behind each finished piece. The afternoon will conclude with a delicious afternoon tea served by The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa. Enjoy an elegant selection of finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and preserves, accompanied by a choice of fine teas, the perfect ending to an inspiring afternoon of art, craftsmanship and conversation.
