You are warmly invited to the book launch for 'The Women Who Built Bath' by Jane Duffus (author of the popular 'The Women Who Built Bristol' series, as well as several other books). Upstairs in the beautiful lounge of The Townhouse, 18-19 Old Bond Street, Bath BA1 1BP. Discover the previously untold stories of 200 incredible women from Bath. You will find 26 suffragists, six artists, four doctors, two pioneering police officers and one big-hearted chicken… plus many more besides. These women come from all walks of life and all parts of the city, spanning laundresses and workhouse inmates to theatre revolutionaries and city councillors. Every woman featured in these pages has made her mark on this city and deserves her moment in the sun. Join for drinks in the bar, followed by Jane in conversation with BBC presenter Laura Rawlings, and then book sales and signings. Tickets £5 (excluding booking fee) The ticket price (excluding booking fee) is fully redeemable against the purchase of one copy of the book at the event (maximum one ticket used per book).
