About This Event

Explore the future of AI, law and legal technology with leading experts, innovators, students and industry leaders at Ulster University. The Centre for Legal Technology (CLT) at Ulster University, in conjunction with the International Future of Law Association (IFLA) and LawTech Ireland, is delighted to bring together two days of discussion, collaboration and innovation exploring the future of AI, legal technology and the law. The event will bring together students, legal professionals, technologists, policymakers, academics and industry leaders to examine emerging technologies, explore the opportunities and challenges presented by AI, and connect with those shaping the future of legal technology. DAY 1 — Hackathon Thursday 5 November | 1:30pm – 4:30pm An energising and collaborative Hackathon bringing together students and industry teams to tackle AI and legal technology challenges. Participants will have the opportunity to: Work collaboratively on AI and legal technology challenges Exchange ideas with students, professionals and industry Develop innovative approaches to real-world challenges Compete for a £500 prize for the winning team Celebrate with pizza and beer following the Hackathon See the winning team announced at 5:00pm Hackathon Teams – Important Information If you are registering as a Hackathon team, please contact the Centre for Legal Technology (CLT) following registration to confirm your team details and receive further information regarding the Hackathon. Hackathon teams should contact CLT at clt@ulster.ac.uk with their team name, team members and a nominated team contact. Further information on the Hackathon, including the challenge, format, timings and practical arrangements, will be provided directly to registered teams. DAY 2 — Conference Day Friday 6 November | 9:00am – 5:30pm The main Conference Day will bring together leading experts, technologists, policymakers and legal professionals to explore the future of law in the age of AI. The programme will feature: Keynote speakers Expert panel discussions Networking and collaboration opportunities Discussions on emerging AI and legal technology Opportunities to connect with academics, industry and legal professionals Lunch provided Drinks reception and networking from 4:30pm – 5:30pm Who should attend?
