Exploring the art and artists of East Belfast.

Join us on Saturday 24th October 2026 for Behind the Studio Door, a unique opportunity to step inside the working environments of over 60 artists based at Creative Exchange Artist Studios and QSS Studios & Gallery.

The studios will be open from 11:30 to 17:00 and you’re invited to explore the studios at your own pace or join a guided tour to hear directly from a selection of artists about their work, inspirations, and creative processes. Tours take place at 12:00 (beginning at Creative Exchange and finishing at QSS Studios at 13:30) and 15:00 (beginning at QSS Studios and finishing at Creative Exchange at 16:30), early booking is advised. Complimentary refreshments will be available at both venues.

Please note: Participants will be required to walk a short distance (0.2miles) to get from one studio group to the other during the tour.

Founded in 1996, Creative Exchange Artist Studios is home to a collective of artists working across ceramics, sculpture, textiles, and painting, all in an atmosphere that nurtures creative exchange and experimentation.

QSS Studios & Gallery provide affordable, high-quality studios for professional visual artists at all career stages and host a year-round programme of exhibitions and events.

This collaborative open day celebrates the breadth and vitality of contemporary art being made right here in East Belfast. We hope you’ll join us to connect with local artists and experience their work first-hand.
