What does it mean to BELONG?
Belonging is an integral part of Christian life. We speak about belonging to God, to the church, belonging in our families, and belonging within our communities. We have many ways of creating spaces where people can feel welcomed, known, and valued. But perhaps there is a danger in that.
What happens when belonging asks us to step beyond what is familiar?
So, in the face of racist violence and the challenges of integration, how should Christian people enact the first and second greatest commandment (Matt 22 37-40)?
In a noisy world where opinions and even theologies clash, this event will provide a safe space to begin to examine how to learn to better love our neighbour. We need to create space to listen, avoid soundbites and engage with authentic stories in a meaningful faith filled conversation.
