Belfast’s illustrator meet-up Illustrators North hosts a relaxed, live conversation on stage with Belfast-based illustrator Laura Callaghan.

Working primarily in watercolour and gouache, Laura’s illustrations sit somewhere between fashion illustration and satire. Her images are bright, beautiful and meticulously painted, but often carry an underlying sense of unease and humour.

We’ll chat with Laura about her work, her career as an illustrator, and the ideas and influences behind her distinctive style.

Following the talk, there will be time for questions, and to mingle and connect.

Laura Callaghan is an Irish illustrator based in Belfast. Her work is largely hand-painted using watercolour, gouache and pen. Part fashion illustration, part satire, her images are ostensibly bright and beautiful, but simultaneously cultivate a sense of unease and humour. Her clients include The Cut, the LA Times and Lazy Oaf, and she regularly creates and exhibits personal work.
