Join us as we celebrate the voices and stories of Polish and other minority communities who have made Belfast their home. Join us as we celebrate the voices and stories of Polish and other minority communities who have made Belfast their home, which were collected during the Nasz Dom project funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund. The evening will see the official launch of Nasz Dom: Our Home, Our Stories anthology which brings together a captivating collection of stories by, and interviews with, some of Belfast’s newest residents. Here are their journeys from Poland, as well as from India, Jordan, Syria and Ukraine to a new life in Northern Ireland – alongside their reflections on the meaning of ‘home.’ Accomplished stories and moving interviews convey and celebrate the diversity of life in twenty-first-century Belfast. Guests will also enjoy an awards ceremony for our writing competition winners who will read from their stories. The event will conclude with a screening of a short film documenting our journey, capturing the project's most memorable moments. As we close this chapter, we are also proud to announce our vision for the future – restoring Somerton House and establishing a Polish cultural centre in Belfast, a new home for our shared heritage.
