About the training

Voicing the Void’s OCN Level 2 Understanding Restorative Storytelling builds on the foundations of restorative storytelling and takes participants deeper into how stories are constructed, how we hold and respond to the stories of others, and how storytelling can be used safely and ethically to support personal, community and social change.

The programme explores storytelling as a tool for empathy, connection, advocacy, leadership and change.

Across the three days, participants will explore eight core areas:

What is restorative storytelling?

How are stories structured?

Truth and radical empathy

Journeying Within: restorative self-reflection and reflective practices

The VTV Self-Disclosure Framework

Crafting inspiring narratives: empowering change through storytelling

Community building and leveraging resources

Storytelling advocacy fundamentals

These are the eight areas covered and assessed within the Level 2 programme.

Assessment & accreditation

This is a portfolio-based programme. Participants complete assessment tasks linked to each area of learning, which together form their portfolio of evidence for accreditation. There is no exam or timed assessment.

Who will deliver the training?

The programme will be co-delivered by Rory Doherty, Founder & Executive Director of Voicing the Void, alongside Tim Chapman, former Chair of the European Forum for Restorative Justice.

Course fees

Standard Rate – £475 per person

Community & Voluntary Sector Rate – £395 per person

Funded/Supported Places – limited places available by application

The fee covers the full three-day training programme, participant materials/workbook, assessment and accreditation.
