Quare Nicht Series
Discover Ulster-Scots Centre | Thursday 24 September 2026 | 7:00pm
Ulster-Scots Community Network is proud to present our "Quare Nicht" Series, kicking off with an evening of poetry, stories, and song at the Discover Ulster-Scots Centre.
Join David Hume and Davy Moore as they talk about their Ulster-Scots roots, read from their poems, and tell stories from the Ulster-Scots community. It's a light presentation with lots of laughs and crack, featuring pieces such as Johnny Cash, The Aldfreck Coalmining Disaster of 1925, The Pampered Police Dug, and Learning Your Dog Ulster-Scots — alongside a more serious side, with William John, a poignant First World War poem by Davy Moore, and reflections on Ulster-Scots heritage with Hame and This Lann is Yer Ain Lann by David Hume.
Bagpipe entertainment will also be on display, with a drap in yer han.
Whether you're steeped in Ulster-Scots culture or just curious to learn more, come along for a quare nicht.
