About This Event

World Café: Let’s talk about Parental Pancreatic Cancer will allow young people to share their experiences and contribute to research at Riddel Hall.

Come along, have your say, and help drive research that makes a difference

When a parent has pancreatic cancer, young people’s voices are too often unheard. Join PhD researcher Caitlin McShane and colleagues at Queen’s University Belfast, in partnership with NIPANC (Northern Ireland’s Pancreatic Cancer Charity) for a free interactive World Café workshop which brings together young people, families, professionals, and members of the public to explore real stories and reflect together. What to Expect

Hear insights from current research being conducted at Queen’s exploring adolescents’ experiences when a parent has pancreatic cancer.

Take part in small table group conversations connecting lived experience with professional insight to brainstorm ideas for improving support (you can contribute as little or as much as you are comfortable with). After the event we will analyse the group conversations to help inform recommendations for support solutions.

Refreshments and pizza provided for attendees

This event is open to everyone interested, with particular encouragement to young people aged 12 – 24 years, their families, and professionals working within this space. Whether you’ve been personally affected, support others, or simply want to learn more, this is a chance to be part of research that is shaping understanding, services, and support for families.
