Youth workers... share your views on how social media impacts how young people perceive and treat others who are different from them!

This interactive workshop will explore the impact of social media on young people... from misinformation, polarisation and online hate to echo chambers, stereotypes, self-esteem and mental health. But what does this actually look like in practice, and what are the people working directly with young people seeing?

As part of an ongoing research project, Youth Link NI is inviting adults who work with young people in a professional or voluntary capacity to take part in an interactive focus group exploring these questions. We want to hear your experiences and perspectives: the changes you have noticed, the challenges young people are navigating, where social media may be influencing attitudes and relationships, and where the reality might be more complicated than the headlines suggest.

Your contribution will help us build a clearer picture of how social media is affecting young people's perceptions of difference, diversity and one another, and inform the development of practical training and resources for those working with young people.
