Funding Bid Essentials - A Practical Session for Community Groups will be held at Edgbaston Community Centre in Birmingham on 11 November 2026 at 10:30. This session is designed to help community groups improve their funding bids and develop effective project proposals.
A friendly session to help community groups strengthen funding bids, tell their story, show need, set outcomes and build realistic budgets.
Join BCM for a supportive session exploring the value of having clear, robust policies and procedures in place. We’ll take a step by step approach to breaking down policy information, helping your group to understand what policies are for, how they work, and how they support good governance.
This is a relaxed peer learning space where groups can share experiences, ask questions and learn together. We’ll look at the difference between policies and procedures, how to use them, and which key policies funders commonly expect to see. Together, we’ll explore examples of essential policies including Safeguarding, Health & Safety, EDI, Codes of Conduct and Risk Assessments.
You’ll leave with: • A clearer understanding of why policies and procedures matter • Knowledge of the difference between policies and procedures • Insight into which policies are needed for funding applications • Confidence in creating, approving and refreshing policies • Practical templates and a policy checklist to support your governance.
