Madnezz of Amy

Fronted by Nadine L'Amour, Madnezz of Amy is a tribute to Amy Winehouse built on close study rather than costume. The voice is there, but so are the asides between songs, the timing, the flashes of humour that made Amy such a presence on stage.

Nadine has spent years reading up on the woman behind the records, and it shows in how the set is put together. Back to Black, Frank, the B-sides that people forget about until they hear them again.

The show has grown from small rooms to festival stages and the Dublin Castle in Camden, where Amy cut her teeth. Janis Winehouse, Amy's mother, has phoned Nadine on her birthday, which says plenty about how the family view the show.

A DJ warms the room before the band come on, and stays on after.
