People’s Emergency Briefing Screening

Tickets are free, and you're welcome to turn up on the day. However, booking in advance helps us plan numbers and is greatly appreciated.

This free community screening is designed to help local people understand the wider issues affecting our lives, communities, and future. Following the film, there will be an opportunity for anyone who wishes to stay on to discuss the topics raised with informed local organisations, community leaders, and other attendees.

In November last year a National Emergency Briefing (NEB) (https://www.nebriefing.org/) was held in Westminster, where leading UK scientists and doctors presented evidence on the implications of climate and nature breakdown for public health, food systems, national security, and the economy to MPs and other decision-makers, calling for an urgent response.

The People's Emergency Briefing has been created to ensure everyone has access to the same information. The film explains the challenges we face, explores the choices ahead, and highlights the role individuals, communities, businesses, and institutions can play in shaping a positive future.

Featuring familiar voices including Adam Buxton and a very passionate Jennifer Saunders, alongside members of the public, the briefing presents complex information in a way that is accessible, engaging, and relevant to everyday life.

Recent summers have highlighted how our climate is changing. Whatever your views on the causes, the impacts affect us all through rising costs, pressures on food systems, extreme weather, public health, and the resilience of our communities.

This screening is not about telling people what to think. It is about sharing information, encouraging discussion, and creating space for people to better understand the challenges ahead and the opportunities available to respond.
