Translating Scripture: Engaging children with the Bible in school.

Blackburn Diocese Board of Education, in partnership with Blackburn Cathedral, invites primary teachers, RE leads, and those who plan collective worship to a morning conference at Blackburn Cathedral helping you engage children with the Bible.

The morning will give you classroom-ready ways to open Scripture with children: collective worship ideas, RE that goes deeper, approaches for SEND, and tested ideas you can use.

Bishop Graham Tomlin will give the keynote, and Rachel Gardner will introduce Youthscape's research into how children and young people actually encounter the Bible.

This October marks 500 years since William Tyndale first published the New Testament in English. Tyndale famously said that he wanted a ploughboy to read Scripture for himself. Five hundred years on, the task remains the same: to put the Bible within reach of the children you teach.
