About This Event

Queer Craft Club's Good Grief Blackpool Special Edition focusing on machine embroidery will run on 2 September 2026 at Aunty Social in Blackpool. The workshop is scheduled for 17:30 and admission is free.

Get crafty with free-motion machine embroidery

Join Teddy and Joe for a series of welcoming, creative Queer Craft Club sessions as part of Good Grief Blackpool.

Through gentle, accessible crafting, we'll create space to connect, reflect and share in a relaxed and supportive environment, exploring themes of loss, memory, resilience and chosen family.

Whether you're a regular at Queer Craft Club or joining us for the first time, these sessions offer a chance to make, chat and spend time with others in the LGBTQIA+ community.

In this session

Come along to and get to grips with the wonderfully wonky world of free-motion machine embroidery.

Using a sewing machine, you’ll learn how to draw with thread, creating your own stitched designs by moving the fabric freely beneath the needle. No previous embroidery or sewing experience needed, just bring your ideas and a willingness to experiment.

This is a relaxed, creative workshop where we’ll explore grief, loss, memory and the things we carry with us, turning thoughts and feelings into something tangible through stitch.

Expect sewing machines, thread, a bit of chaos and plenty of creative freedom. Come and make something that’s uniquely yours.

All abilities welcome.

A support worker from Listening Ears will be attending the session to offer assistance if needed.

This session is in our upstairs workshop space. We have a lift! Otherwise it is fourteen steps turn a corner and two more steps. There is an accessible loo on the same floor.
