About This Event

Join us for an intimate chat with Rob Sheridan Join the Museum of Post Punk & Industrial Music for a special conversation between two artists whose careers offer a rare inside view of the worlds of industrial, alternative, and experimental music. Rob Sheridan has spent 15 years defining the visual world of Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor, creating album artwork, photography, films, digital experiences, and groundbreaking live productions, as well as being a member of How to Destroy Angels with Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Mariqueen Maandig-Reznor. In the years since he has established a wildly diverse and successful independent creative career, writing a graphic novel for DC/Vertigo, founding his own apparel company Glitch Goods, and bringing his distinctive approach to projects including Pearl Jam, Naughty Dog, A Perfect Circle, Gunship, Garbage, and other music and entertainment collaborations. Martin Atkins has spent more than four decades at the center of post-punk, industrial, and alternative music: As a member of Public Image Ltd and Killing Joke, founder of Pigface, and a performer and collaborator with Ministry and Nine Inch Nails (including playing drums on NIN's Grammy-winning “Wish”). Along the way, he has established himself as a celebrated label owner, producer, author, educator, and relentless documentarian of the realities of making a life in music. Together, Atkins and Sheridan will dig into the stories behind the work: how music and visual culture collide, what really happens behind the scenes of ambitious tours and creative projects, how technology has changed the relationship between artists and audiences, and what it takes to build a creative career while continuing to challenge yourself and the industry around you. Expect stories, creative insights, chaos, and a candid conversation between two people who have spent their lives making things from inside the machinery of the music industry, followed by an audience Q&A and an opportunity to meet Martin and Rob in the uniquely intimate setting of the Museum of Post-Punk & Industrial Music.
