A free, two hour workshop where you can participate in a practical craft from the Viking times and listen to tales and stories from long ago

Step back in time and discover the Vikings of Salford!

Join us for a fascinating and hands-on afternoon exploring the stories, traditions and heritage of the Vikings and their connections to the land around Salford.

Hear intriguing tales and shared stories from the past, uncover the Viking links to our local landscape, and discover what life may have been like for those who lived here centuries ago.

You’ll also have the chance to get hands-on with history through a practical Viking craft activity, using traditional tools and techniques to create your own item inspired by the past.

Come along, get curious and discover the Viking story hidden in Salford’s landscape!

Please note that this takes place in an outdoor environment and there may be some changes to the event based on the weather on the day, so please come dressed appropriately and wear comfortable footwear. There is very limited parking available but we are served by good public transport links.
