Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before is the 4th & final volume of The SoBo Series*. It's the UK's foremost Smiths/Morrissey-themed running extravaganza & is the perfect way to soak up coastal views of the Isle of Wight & Swanage on the beach hut-lined route. Quiffs, NHS glasses, rosaries, hearing aids & gladioli are optional, but encouraged. Forget all of life's complexities for a day & sign up for this charming race to get some Morris-sea!

Set on the beachfront promenade at Southbourne (SoBo), to the east of Bournemouth, with views along the coast, these are flat, tarmacked events suitable for all abilities. The route consists of an 'out and back' along the prom, offering participants the opportunity to choose their own distance, from 5K to ultra-marathon. All finishers of lap or more will receive a fabulous metal vinyl-inspired medal.

The route is suitable for beginners & speedsters alike as it's a flat, tarmacked, 'out and back'. Trudging slowly over wet sand? Not a bit of it! This route is also officially measured by AUKCM, qualifying it as a road marathon if you're looking to add one to your collection!. Participants choose their own distance on the day, from 5K to Ultra-Marathon.

At all of the events, we offer flexible start times between 8am and 9.30am. Just turn up when you're ready to run. All runners to finish by 3pm (maximum 7 hours). Number pick-up is on the day at race registration before you start the event.

We will have our Run DMC (aid) station at the start/finish of each lap, offering drinks & a wide range of sweet & savoury snacks. There will also be an area to leave your own items. Please note we are cupless & do not provide plastic cups; please bring your own.

Public toilets and showers are available along the promenade.

Final instructions will be sent out via email before the event with full race day information. Laps are a 5.3km, 3.28 mile, out and back, course. There is no elevation gain / loss on this route; making it flat and fast.

*The SoBo Series consist of Volume 1: Step into Christmas, Volume 2: My Funny Valentine, Volume 3: Good Vibrations and Volume 4: Stop Me (if you think you've heard this one before).

Please note, as per UK Athletics rules, distance restrictions apply to participants ages 20 or under

This route is officially measured & certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers so it counts as a road marathon for 100 marathon club purposes.
