Come and join us for this first session where we will get to know each other and make some art focusing on the topic of belonging.

Hello and welcome 😊 If it’s your first time browsing through our events, please have a look at the group description first, as it contains some general info applicable to all sessions.

In this first session we will focus on the topic of belonging. Belonging is a fundamental need, and when met, it leads to some of the most fulfilling experiences we can have as humans. Being seen, understood, and accepted is something we all want and search for in a variety of ways. Many people conceptualise this as “home”. So, the question to explore for this session is what makes you feel like you belong? What does home mean to you?

We will be trying to make some art around these questions. It could be anything. Maybe the feeling of belonging awakens an abstract image in your mind. Maybe it’s the face of a loved one, or a particular chair in your house. If you have reference images you’d like to use, you can bring them over, or alternatively you can email them to me at communitythroughart514@gmail.com and I will print them off for you.

You can use any medium you want as long as it’s safe and practical to use in an enclosed space with other people.

Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided 😊
