Trauma-Informed Practice Training
Trauma-informed practice is an approach to care, services, and support that recognises the widespread impact of trauma on individuals and communities. It aims to create environments that promote healing, build resilience, and reduce the risk of re-traumatisation.
This approach is grounded in an understanding of how trauma affects people’s behaviour, relationships, and long-term wellbeing. It is based on five core principles:
Safety
Trustworthiness
Collaboration
Choice
Empowerment
This training is funded by Public Health Bradford as part of a district-wide commitment to embed trauma-informed practice across services.
What is Tier 1?

It covers the foundational theories of adversity, trauma and resilience, along with practical strategies for applying these in your everyday work. This session is ideal for those new to the topic or seeking a strong grounding in trauma-informed thinking.
What is Tier 2?
Tier 2: Trauma-Responsive Practice builds on the learning from Tier 1. It goes deeper into the science of trauma, including different types of trauma, neurological impacts, and more advanced strategies for trauma-responsive practice.
Completion of Tier 1 is required before attending Tier 2.
