Raising funds for Pelican Parcels, our not-just-history quiz comes to the Better Half in Hove with a cascade of curious questions.

The lovely people at the Better Half in Hove are hosting our curious not-just-history quiz in aid of Pelican Parcels. With five quirky rounds of questions and a little pizzazz, we hope you'll join us for this evening of brain-stretching entertainment. All the details >>>

The quiz will start at approx 7.30pm and run for about two hours, but do arrive beforehand to get into your teams and perhaps sample the Better Half's excellent menu (https://www.thebetterhalfpub.com/menu). The pub opens at 5pm.

You'll be playing in teams of 2-4 people, and entry is £5 per head. When you buy a ticket, you'll see a blank field into which you can add your payment in multiples of £5: so £10 gets you a ticket for two people, £15 three, and £20 a full team's worth of four. But you're also welcome to buy a single £5 entry and either assemble your team privately afterwards or we'll put you with some friendly people on the night. The pub is very generously providing some prizes for the night and also donating 10% of its takings to our charity, so please do eat, drink and make merry.

Our charity

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to help Pelican Parcels (https://www.pelicanparcels.org.uk/), which takes pre-loved and new item donations for babies and children up to age twelve, and redistributes them to families facing financial hardship across Brighton & Hove. The city has high rates of children in need, in care and with child protection plans, or who have been referred to social care services. The charity aims to provide all children's essentials: beds and clothes, uniform and shoes, toys and books, prams and play mats, nappies and toiletries.
