BMRACS2 x Leave No Trace – Community Beach Clean
As the Brighton Marina to River Adur Coastal Defence Scheme (BMRACS2) enters its final stages, we're teaming up with the fantastic team at Leave No Trace Brighton for one last community beach clean before the project comes to a close, and we'd love for you to join us.
📅 Date: 11 September
⏰ Time: 7:45am to 9:00am
📍 Meeting Point: Hove Beach Area 5 (opposite the King Alfred Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Hove)
With the coastal defence works nearly complete in Area 5, we'll be helping to tidy the beach and remove any remaining litter as equipment is removed from site.
Litter pickers and hessian bags will be provided, so all you need to bring is suitable clothing and footwear for the weather.
When you arrive, look out for the bright yellow Leave No Trace Brighton flags and marquee, which will mark our meeting point and make us easy to find.
This is a great opportunity to make a positive difference to our local coastline, meet members of the BMRACS2 and Leave No Trace Brighton teams, and find out more about the work that has taken place along the coast over the past two years. There will also be an opportunity to chat informally with members of the project team and ask any questions about the scheme.
Whether you're a regular volunteer or joining a beach clean for the first time, we'd love to see you there. The more volunteers we have, the bigger difference we can make.
And if contributing to a cleaner coastline isn't incentive enough, there's also a £25 Babble voucher up for grabs for the most unusual item found during the clean. Last time, the prize went to a dismembered doll, so expectations are high!
