Putin's Russia. Today. Literary society meeting. Guests - Deputy Minister of Culture; famous actor. Nobody expected what happened next.

Get Ready for THE NOSE!

The original version of THE NOSE was performed in the late 80's at the King's Head, Islington - London's premiere fringe venue - and won Production of the Year in the Charrington London Fringe Awards. This reworking reflects the extraordinary changes in Russia since that first production. What begins as a comedy, quickly darkens as the two characters' history is revisited. And the end is unexpected, shocking, and deeply disturbing.

SOME REVIEWS OF THE ORIGINAL PRODUCTION:

'Based on Gogol's short story of the same name, it has been ingeniously developed and given a contemporary setting'

'As the tentative actor turned tormentor, Malcolm Ward combines twitching recessiveness with repressed rage'

'there can be few cleverer short plays in London at the moment'

'There are plenty of moments when Gogol's dry wit shines through'

'Ingeniously adapted for the stage by Peter Thomson'

' ... this amusing and interesting play'

'Imagine Daniel Day Lewis forcing Luke Rittner to strip at a meeting of a provincial literary lunch club ...'

'They capture Gogol's satire of bureaucratic vanity and paranoia well ..... This clever interpretation of the tale ends up answering questions Gogol left open ..... a substantial entertainment'
