With Ginny Farquhar & Ali Rabjohns

At the Winter Solstice we reach the longest night point of the whole wheel.

At the Winter Solstice we reach the longest night point of the whole wheel. The land is dormant, the light has drawn all the way down, and everything waits. Across cultures and centuries, people have gathered at this threshold to sit with the dark, tend a flame, and welcome the light as it turns. This is not a time to rush toward the new. It is a time to rest at the turning point and let it find us.

Held in the waxing moon before the Full Moon of 24 December, this gathering closes the year's cycle and holds the seed of the next.

🌟 Stillness · Rebirth · Star Wisdom

Stillness

The dark is not empty. It is where things are formed before they are seen.

Through the ceremony, we will:

- Come to rest at the deepest point of the year

- Let go of the pressure to be producing anything

- Listen to what only becomes audible in the quiet

Rebirth

The light returns not with a blaze but with a fraction of a minute.

Together, we will:

- Honour the year that is ending, its losses and its gifts

- Kindle the inner flame that carries us forward

- Welcome what is beginning, without hurrying it

Star Wisdom

In the longest night, the stars are at their clearest.

We will:

- Look for the guiding light in your own life

- Sit with the dream that is forming beneath the surface

- Carry a small light out into the turning year

🌿 Ceremonial & Creative Space

This day will include:

🧡 Opening circle and guided meditation

🧡 Seasonal teaching and ceremonial focus - deep stillness, returning light, and the guiding star

🧡 Land-based practice or a walk in the South Downs

🧡 Creative making - evergreen wreaths, paper stars, and candlelit making

🧡 Reflection, journalling, and quiet integration

🧡 Organic herbal teas, cake, and nourishing connection

Our approach is grounded, spacious, and non-judgemental. You are invited to move at your own pace, listening to what feels right for you.

No prior experience is needed. Everything is gently guided.

🌟 Seasonal Reflection

Join us for a Winter Solstice gathering in the South Downs - a day of ceremony, creativity, and connection, honouring the longest night and welcoming the slow return of the light. You will be invited to sit with the question:

What dream is forming in the dark?

🌸 About the facilitators

Ginny Farquhar

Ginny is a sustainable textile maker and natural dye artisan whose work is rooted in slow making, ecological awareness, and heritage textile traditions. She works with plant fibres, natural colour, and reclaimed materials - honouring cycles of care, reuse, and renewal. Through her practice and teaching, Ginny invites making as a quiet, attentive dialogue with the land.

Ali Rabjohns

Ali Rabjohns (MBACP, Accred) is a therapeutic arts facilitator and shamanic practitioner based in Sussex. Her work weaves felt-making, mindfulness, and spiritual practice, creating gentle, non-judgemental spaces for exploration. 🌟 Closing

As the wheel turns, so do we.

This gathering completes the year's spiral. The seeds planted at Imbolc have been tended, celebrated, harvested, released, and returned to the dark soil of winter - ready to begin again.

'I left feeling deeply replenished from such a nourishing space. The workshop offered exactly what I didn't know I needed.'

You are warmly welcome.
