On this journey, we will walk up through the layers of its geological past and connect the rocks beneath our feet to the history of Bristol. Starting at the Clifton Suspension Bridge, we take in fabulous views of the Avon Gorge and the Bridge and learn about the geological foundations of the city. The route continues down to Hotwells, the Docks and back up through Clifton, where we will discover the links between the geology and the city's human history, through its stories, architecture and industry.

Start and Finish: Clifton Suspension Bridge
Walking distance: 1.5 miles
Duration: 2 hours
Accessibility: steep paths and steps
Maximum of 15 participants. Suitable for children above 13. Dogs are allowed, if they are happy on the lead and with a stop-start walk.
