A Very Violent Valentines: Around the World in 80 Slays
Forget the chocolates. Forget the roses. This Valentine’s Day, Strange Britain is taking you on a rather more murderous kind of romantic getaway.
A Very Violent Valentines: Around the World in 80 Slays marks acclaimed storyteller Adrian Finney’s fifth True Crime Special. And this time he’s planning to take you on a journey into the darker corners of the international crime world, uncovering stories of serial killers, murderers and extraordinary crimes that have remained largely unknown to English-speaking audiences.
From notorious killers with names you may recognise to cases that have barely registered outside their home countries, we’ll be (metaphorically) travelling around the world in search of some of the strangest, most disturbing, and downright bizarre true crime cases.
Expect killers, victims, investigations, disappearances, unlikely twists and the occasional moment where you are guaranteed to find yourself thinking, “How on earth have I never heard of this?!”
And because this is Strange Britain, it won’t be a solemn lecture. Expect plenty of comedy, along with fascinating history and razor sharp storytelling, adding some much needed levity to the serious reality behind the crimes.
So pack your metaphorical suitcase, leave your moral compass at home, and join Adrian Finney for a Valentine’s Day journey where the only thing getting murdered is the romance.
You may never look at international travel in quite the same way again…

About Adrian Finney
Adrian Finney is a Sheffield-based author, storyteller and founder of Strange Britain, best known for his acclaimed ghost tours and true crime events. Blending fascinating history, chilling tales and a distinctly dry sense of humour,
Adrian has been bringing Britain’s stranger stories to life since 2021. An author of multiple books exploring the darker side of British history, he has also appeared on BBC Radio as a local history expert and created unique experiences ranging from haunted train journeys to spooky canal cruises. His events combine meticulous research, engaging storytelling and a healthy dose of dark humour, proving that the truth can often be stranger — and considerably more entertaining — than fiction.
