Themed life drawing & storytelling event at The Haunted Bookshop

Join us for the first-ever life-drawing & dark-storytelling event at The Haunted Bookshop.

Expect a morbidly joyful session featuring the strange and surreal creations and personas of unique artist and puppeteer ✴Morbid Merriments✴, who will be modelling for the evening. Dark fantasy fairy tales will enhance the atmosphere of this Halloween special life drawing event hosted in the wonderfully enchanting atmosphere of The Haunted Bookshop in Stokes Croft.

Morbid Merriments is a multidisciplinary artist and storyteller specialising in all things strange and surreal.

From puppetry to performance art, she works in the realms of ritual and rebirth to embrace what can be; revelling in uncanny chaos through both utter absurdity and gentle playfulness. Over the evening, she will be bringing two different outfits and a collection of her incredible creations made with natural materials from bone and wood to lichen, fungi, mosses & various found fabrics.

Guests will be offered a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic option, and places are limited

This is an untutored and low-pressure session where we engage with creativity. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience with drawing. Poses range from a few seconds to 20 minutes. A wide range of materials will be provided, including different types of paper and drawing media, but feel free to bring your own media as well if you prefer.
