Calling all Case Managers, Therapists and Deputies working in Brain Injury.
Discover Empowerment Behaviour Management (EBMA).
Discover Empowerment Behaviour Management (EBMA), a groundbreaking approach to support clients with behavioural presentations in a community setting.
We are excited to announce the South West's first EBMA – Empowerment Behavioural Management Approach Event, proudly sponsored by Arbor Neurorehabilitation.
EBMA is a method for delivering Comprehensive Holistic Neurorehabilitation (CHN) and long-term disability management for people with complex Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
Key elements of EBMA include:
A cognitive behavioural approach to understanding and managing behaviour
Method for managing dysexecutive behaviours and community re-integration
Individualised, empowerment-based approach, with clients and their team working together to set realistic goals and behaviour agreements
Assessing clients holistically and incorporating ACT, Narrative Therapy and
Systemic Therapy approaches to the intervention.
This specialist event is aimed at therapists, case managers, support workers and deputyship colleagues involved in supporting individuals with complex ABI. The event will provide an opportunity to explore a practical, person-centred approach to long-term rehabilitation and disability management.
What will the training include?
EBMA is a method for delivering comprehensive holistic neurorehabilitation to clients with behavioural presentations. This training will provide you with the knowledge to identify and implement behavioural agreements with your clients, reinforcing their own responsibility to manage their behaviour.
You will explore the theories and models underpinning the EBMA approach, identify and record behaviours that challenge and understand why these happen. You will develop skills in holistic formulation (connecting behaviours with underlying factors and interventions indicated).
You will also learn how EBMA enables you to understand the different stages of behaviour and strategies appropriate for each stage and identify how EBMA strategies can be implemented with a range of clinical presentations
The session will be facilitated by Dr Shai Betteridge, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and her team, who will share expert insight into the approach and its application within complex ABI rehabilitation. Her broad range of experience has helped her to develop extensive knowledge and experience in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation. She has also set-up, developed, and clinical lead several new neurorehabilitation services, both within the public and private sector.
Certificate of attendance will be provided.
Tickets include a buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the event.
General Admission tickets are now available.
