Frome Film Photo Walk - Half Frame Photography Day will occur at Station Approach in Bristol on Sunday, 5th September 2026. The event is a relaxed walk celebrating worldwide Half-Frame Photography Day. Entry costs nothing.
Welcome to Fromography's first analogue photo walk! This is a welcoming and relaxed walk to celebrate worldwide Half-Frame Photography Day.
This walk is open to everyone, but especially the photography community in Frome, along with anyone from nearby Bath, Bristol, Somerset, and Wiltshire.
The walk will be approx 3.5km and will start at Frome Train Station, heading through town before ending at nearby Victoria Park, where there's a café and nice space for a picnic.
You don't have to bring a half-frame camera; any film camera will be great! But if you'd like recommendations or want to purchase a half-frame camera before the walk, please get in touch with @fromography on Instagram.
Bring a camera and some film, maybe bring a friend, and come hang out with other photographers and explore the lovely town of Frome.
The event is free to attend, but please kindly book a ticket so we know you’ll be there!
The Walk
Approx 3.5km, some steep hills and raised curbs in place but no steps or stairs. The walk will take us briefly near main roads, so be safe and watch your surroundings.
Safety & Accessibility
This photo walk is a safe space for anyone who identifies as queer, trans, non-binary, women, and those who consider themselves neurodivergent. If you feel uncomfortable about an interaction at an event, or would like any additional assistance on the day, please speak to the organiser (Mae) immediately, who will help with this.
Parking & Travel
Frome train station is right at the start of the walk, with trains from Bristol and Bath every hour or so. If driving from outside of Frome, car parks are available in town, with reasonable parking costs. Please note the car park at the station can get busy on Saturday, and finding a space can be more difficult.
Feedback & The Future
Fromography is a project about breaking down barriers to film photography and building a local hub for underrepresented creatives and photographers. We have social events, workshops and very soon, a community darkroom. If there's anything you would like to share, or if you have any suggestions for how we can improve the project, please kindly email mae@fromography.co.uk
Community Rules
Be Kind. There is a place for critique in creative practice, but this social meetup is intended as a relaxed, welcoming space to encourage others and lift them up, not to shoot them down.
Print Your Work. If you would like to show off your photography, we ask that you bring prints! It's lovely to be able to show something tangible and there's plenty of space to spread out prints on the table for others to share and enjoy.
Screen-Free. Please bring your favourite film camera, but try to keep phones in bags or pockets where possible. Keeping the space, your hands, and your head available for connection and conversation is a key part of why we love all things analogue.
Comfort & Consent. Always ask for permission before taking a photo of another attendee, for any reason.(Yes, even if the light is really good.) If any images taken at the event are used for marketing future events, consent will be requested from subjects in the photos before posting.
