Join us to celebrate the opening of The Kingfisher, a specialist unit for autistic people and people with a learning disability. Hospital Rooms x The Kingfisher: Opening Celebration & Art Tour Hospital Rooms invites you to see the 13 artworks commissioned especially for the new Kingfisher inpatient service in Fishponds, Bristol. There are 3 tour slots to choose from: starting at: 2pm 3pm 4pm Each tour will last 45 minutes. The Kingfisher service supports autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities who are experiencing serious mental health challenges. The service has been developed in collaboration with lived experience advisors which has in turn contributed to the development of the artworks for the service. Extraordinary artists have worked with patients, NHS staff and people with lived experience of mental health services to create these artistic interventions. Each artwork is made in response to the sensory needs of the people who receive care within this ward, and enable their environment to bring them imagination, calm, creativity and hope for the future. Join Hospital Rooms and The Kingfisher Clinical Team to celebrate the launch of the new service and see all the artworks around the building. Featured artists include: Peter Adjaye Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq Hannah Brown Victoria Cantons Angela Harding Christopher Hartmann Mohammed Imran Khan Fozia Ismail, Dhaqan Collective Louise Morgan & Chris Rose Phil Root with Kingfisher Staff & Bristol Autism Spectrum Service Veronica Ryan Boo Saville The event will include: A guided tour of The Kingfisher artworks Insight into the collaborative creative process Reflections from the project team and partners Refreshments and informal conversation This project has been developed in partnership with: ActionSpace Arnolfini Art in Motion Spike Island We look forward to welcoming you to celebrate the final artworks.
