Over 10 weeks, beginners will be guided through essential hand-building techniques — including pinching, slab work, coiling, and using moulds. You’ll also explore texture, pattern, and mark‑making, and experiment with decorating your pieces using slips, oxides, underglazes, and glazes. You’ll learn the basics of glazing to give your finished work a beautiful, personal touch.
Returning learners and those with existing skills are welcome to join this course, where they can build confidence, extend their knowledge, tackle new challenges, and pursue personal projects with tutor support.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of unique, fully fired pieces to take home and enjoy.
This is a friendly, supportive class with guidance from your tutor and encouragement from fellow learners — a space to learn, create, and have fun.
No previous experience necessary, just enthusiasm to learn and have a go!
