The Edale Skyline Challenge is more than just a hike-it’s a chance to come together, to raise awareness and vital funds for Birmingham Mind while experiencing one of the Peak District’s most iconic routes. The 32 km loop circles the picturesque village of Edale, offering wide open moorland, breathtaking views, and climbs including Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, the Great Ridge and Lose Hill, before finishing back in the village of Hope.

Whether you’re an experienced hiker or looking for a new challenge, the Edale Skyline offers stunning scenery, a supportive community, and the opportunity to walk in support of Birmingham Mind.
Event Details
Date: Saturday 19th September 2026
Location: Meet at Hope Car park, S33 6SD
Start Time: 8:00 AM
Route: A stunning circular hike around Edale, taking in Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, Hollins Cross and more
Distance: 32km (20 miles)
Elevation: 1,100m + climbing
Difficulty: Tough
Terrain: Mostly well-trodden paths with stone slabs and peaty sections, which can be slippery in wet or foggy conditions
This challenge is ideal for anyone looking to challenge themselves both physically and mentally in beautiful surroundings. You’ll need to be comfortable with a full day on your feet, as the route takes around 8–10 hours, tackling some rugged and uneven terrain and steep climbs.
Everything’s better together-sign up as a team or join with friends, family, or colleagues and enjoy the challenge side by side. It’s a fantastic experience to share!
Entry is £30 plus booking fee, with a fundraising target of £150 per person. Any additional fundraising support is hugely appreciated and helps us continue our vital work, like our Birmingham Wellbeing Hub based in the Bullring and Grand Central.
