An exceptional evening of great wine, great food and great company, celebrating the distinctive flavours and culture of Piemonte.

Join us for a very special evening hosted by Hal Wilson, Founder & Director of Cambridge Wine Merchants, alongside Bill Brogan, General Manager of Market House, as we explore the distinctive wines, flavours and culture of Piemonte.

One of Italy’s great gastronomic regions, Piemonte is home to some of the country’s most celebrated wines and a wonderfully rich culinary tradition. For this intimate dinner, we have brought the two together in a carefully curated journey through five courses and six wines.

The evening begins with a glass of Cascina Vano “Alla Maestra” Moscato d’Asti 2025 from a fourth-generation family winery in the Langhe — floral, beautifully fresh and delicately sparkling, with notes of elderflower, orange blossom, peach and honey.

From there, we move to Ricossa Gavi 2024, paired with Vitello Tonnato, followed by something particularly special: Marcarini Boschi di Berri Dolcetto d’Alba 2019, produced from rare ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines dating back to the late 1800s, alongside Agnolotti del Plin with pumpkin, braised beef and toasted Piemonte hazelnuts.

At the heart of the evening is Brasato al Barolo — Barolo-braised beef cheek with rosemary polenta, roasted celeriac, glazed shallots and mushroom & red wine jus — paired with Azelia di Luigi Scavino Barolo 2019, a beautifully balanced expression bringing together vineyards from Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d’Alba.

We then turn to Rivetto Nervo Barbaresco 2021, from the historic Nervo vineyard in Treiso, served with Piedmontese cheese and autumn pear. The evening concludes with Bonet Piemontese — dark chocolate and amaretti pudding, Barolo-poached pear, hazelnut praline and mascarpone cream — accompanied by the fragrant and delicate Contero Brachetto d’Acqui 2025.

Throughout the evening, Hal and Bill will guide you through the wines, their producers and the stories behind them, bringing to life the vineyards, traditions and character of Piemonte.
