Welcoming the original Jamaican SingJay, Eek A Mouse to Cambridge Junction; Ganja Smuggling An original reggae Icon, with his unique infectious singjay (singing and dj/chanting) signature style.He has an incredible ability to capture his audience, weaving his storytelling social commentary style of the reality of the colonial shitstem, raising the plight of the ghetto sufferer. He is a beacon of reality lyrics, bringing insight in a most skilful and even humorous way. Born Ripton Hylton in Kingston Jamaica in 1957 his first releases were while he was still in college under his birth name, produced alongside his maths teacher Anthony Dehaney in a cultural roots style; My Father’s Land In ’79 taking on the name Eek A Mouse, a nickname his friends had given him. He then went on to work with many of the great producers at the time; King Tubby, Joe Gibbs, Linval Thompson, Henry Junjo Lawes to name a few. Creating an incredibly diverse catalogue of songs, he’s continued through the 80’s up to the present day, with over a 100 singles and 17 album releases; Some A Holla Some A Bawl More recently working with OBF, Mungos HiFi, Irie Ites, Mafia & Fluxy to name a few.
