Jekyll and Hyde will play at Cambridge Junction on 3 November 2026 in an adaptation by Neil Bartlett. The production reframes the classic story by centring a woman's agency and exploring themes of identity and repression. Ticket prices are £18.50 for adults and £16 for those under 16 years old.
Corkscrew Theatre present Jekyll and Hyde adapted for stage by Neil Bartlett Corkscrew Theatre returns with a bold, atmospheric reimagining of one of Victorian literature’s most enduring tales. Neil Bartlett’s Jekyll and Hyde takes Robert Louis Stevenson’s familiar story and turns it inside out, creating a dark, unsettling world of secrets, desire, respectability and transformation. But this is no straightforward retelling. Bartlett gives the story a striking new perspective – placing a woman at its heart and giving her agency in a world where Victorian society would normally deny her a voice. As Hyde’s presence grows ever more dangerous, the boundaries between respectable society and the darker impulses beneath it begin to fracture. The result is a gripping exploration of power, identity, repression and the price of living by society’s rules. Known for its inventive, visually imaginative productions and its commitment to finding fresh theatrical approaches to familiar stories, Corkscrew Theatre brings its distinctive style to this gothic classic. Expect a production that is atmospheric, unsettling and full of surprises – where nothing, and nobody, is quite what they first appear. For audiences who love their classics with a twist, this is Jekyll and Hyde as you have never seen it before: dark, daring and defiantly different. Duration: approx. 1 hour 40 mins (including interval). Recommended for ages 12+ (under 14s must be accompanied by an adult). No booking fees when you become a Member – save from £3 per ticket!
