Dom and Marine have transformed a small, poor build quality Victorian semi-detached in to a quirky, designer home that is very impressive!

Deep retrofit applied while effectively rebuilding and extending the house. Underfloor insulation, new vacuum glazing, internal wall insulation, solar PV, MVHR, ASHP, water saving measures all wrapped in a quirky designer home.

Dom and Marine both work in software as designers (which probably explains why in their spare time they like to do things with their hands). They're passionate about sustainability and the climate crisis, and wanted to see if they could drag a wholly reluctant Victorian semi into a highly performant eco home. Ideally, a home that had little to no heating requirements and that was airy, interesting and fun. With no kids, they've made a house that perhaps isn't for everyone, but it works well for their needs. They're pretty hands on, so most of the finishing in the house has been done by themselves.
