A practical farm walk exploring ten years of nature-friendly arable farming, the lessons learned and what David is still testing.
Join the Nature Friendly Farming Network at Hawk Mill Farm for a practical farm walk exploring David White’s experience of moving from conventional arable farming to a nature-friendly, regenerative approach.
After 40 years of farming conventionally, David made the move to 100% no-till ten years ago. Since then, he has continued to test and adapt his approach, learning what works for his soils and farming system and where challenges remain.
Throughout the walk, David will share some of the lessons from that journey, including how his approach has developed over the past decade and the role that nature-friendly farming can play in reducing inputs, supporting the farm business and building resilience.
The farm walk will provide an opportunity to hear openly about what has worked, what has been more difficult and what David is still experimenting with, as well as to share experiences and ideas with other farmers.
The visit is aimed at farmers and land managers interested in practical approaches to nature-friendly arable farming, whether you are already making changes or considering where to start.
Refreshments will be provided.
