THE COURSE

Our hands are skilled, but return-to-sport, discharge and progression decisions in osteopathy still mostly come down to clinical impression. Athletes, coaches and referrers now expect more than a confident opinion. They want decisions backed by something measurable.

This course doesn't ask you to give up your manual skill. It adds an objective layer on top of it. Using the same testing we run on almost every patient at DCM Clinics, you'll learn to assess the hip and lower back with force plates, strength testing and 3D motion capture. You'll find what's actually driving a presentation, build a plan from the data, and retest to prove that it worked.

It's practical from start to finish. You'll test each other, work through real cases, and leave with a clear system you can use in clinic the following week, whether or not you have the equipment yet.

Everything is built around a simple four-pillar model:

Anti-Movements: is there a control fault?

Force Asymmetry: does capacity explain it?

Neurological Deficit: is the system being used properly?

Retesting: did the plan work?

By the end of the course you'll be able to:

Run a fast, repeatable hip and lower back testing battery

Tell a strength problem from a control or neurological one

Know when a change in the data is real and when it's just noise

Set objective return-to-sport criteria instead of guessing on time

Explain your findings clearly to patients, coaches and GPs
