Explore Chester through poetry, memory and imagination in this relaxed and playful creative writing workshop.

Using photographs, places and creative prompts as inspiration, we’ll play with words to create poems about the places we know, the places we remember and the places we imagine.

You might write about a familiar street, a meaningful place, a memory from the past or a Chester that exists only in your imagination.

No previous poetry experience is needed — just bring your ideas and curiosity. All materials are provided.

Pay what you want. These sessions are for everyone, you are welcome to attend for free or make a donation if you are able.

Accessibility

The workshop takes place in the Un-Shuttered exhibition space at 30 St Werburgh Street. The space has ramp access, electronic doors and is open plan and all on one level.

There are no toilets within the exhibition space. The nearest available toilets are located at the main entrance to Chester Cathedral.
