The Abberton Home Education: Survival Skills event will be held at Abberton Reservoir on 2026-10-21, offering a themed drop-off home education session for children aged 8 and above for £9.50.
This is a themed drop-off home education session for age 8+
Our Abberton Home Education Group runs on the 4th Wednesday of every month (exc. August and December). These are drop-off sessions so children do not need to be accompanied – it is for children aged 8-16. Each session has a theme where we will complete activities and engage with nature based on the topic that month. This is a relaxed session where children can be themselves and work together to develop social skills and to foster a deep understanding of wildlife and a love of the natural world.
In October we will work on our survival skills. This will include identifying (but not eating) things that can be foraged, building dens, and fire lighting and cooking if the weather allows.
Please head into the visitor centre on arrival. You will need to accompany them into the building to sign them in for the session. A consent form must be completed ahead of the session.
