A solo viola da gamba recital by Sarah Small, including a selection of pieces from her newly composed "Lachrimae for the Land". Through extensive touring by bicycle to reach audiences, exposed to the extremes of weather and with eyes open to the rapidly changing landscapes, Sarah has written a collection of pieces dedicated to the places she's visited where land and life are fading away as a result of human-caused climate change. Each piece reflects the rich past life, present emptiness, and glimmers of a return to flourishing if we take action now. You can expect a unique programme influenced by the sounds of the wild, traditional folk melodies from around the British Isles, and French baroque elements that showcase the beguiling character of the viola da gamba.

Refreshments will be served after the concert, with donations to church funds
