The Ultimate Hangout for Social Writers

Come and meet a friendly bunch of writers for social and keeping your writing habit going. Whether you're scribbling poetry, blogging, or drafting your next novel, come on over and let’s write, laugh, and connect!

This is an in-person event at Firstsite in Colchester (the cafe at the back) the group meets every Sunday.

Our typical format runs like this:

12:00 is the general meet time and we all have a chat, food and drinks before we start to write.

13:30 (optional: you can skip this if you wish) we have a general talk round, this is a good opportunity to talk about your project, say if there's anything you're blocked on/want opinions on, others can ask questions (usually nice to get new ideas flowing that you may not have thought of).

If the group is too large to do this then we'll break off into smaller groups to have a quicker chat round.

14:00 we start the timer and begin writing for one hour.

15:00 feel free to continue social, the cafe stays open until 5PM.

Feel free to join and leave whenever, but if you're looking for a chatty and friendly group that enjoys writing then this is it!

Come for whatever fits you and your needs.
