Walk 4.6 billion years of Earth’s history through Tramore Valley Park. Explore deep time and our place in the living world.
What would it feel like to walk through 4.6 billion years of Earth’s history?
Join facilitator Aleesha Wiegandt for a 4.6 km guided walk through Tramore Valley Park, using the landscape as a starting point for an exploration of deep time, ecological change and our place within Earth’s history.
As we walk, we’ll consider the immense timescales of planetary change and the ecological processes that have shaped the world around us. The walk offers an opportunity to step outside the human scale of time and encounter the landscape through a much longer ecological lens.
We’ll finish back at the EcoLab for a facilitated discussion, reflecting on what deep time might mean for how we understand the present moment.
No previous experience is necessary. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.
