About This Event

Wild Brews: Foraging Flowers & Fruits for Cordials & Ferments will happen at Tramore Valley Park EcoLab in Cork on September 26, 2026. Attendees will learn sustainable foraging and taste homemade cordials. Entry is free.

Discover wild flowers and fruits, learn to forage sustainably, and taste homemade cordials while exploring the art of botanical fermentation

What if the flowers and fruits growing around us could become delicious, nourishing drinks?

Join ecologist and forager John Armstrong for a seasonal exploration of Tramore Valley Park, discovering the wild flowers and fruits that can be sustainably foraged throughout the year to create cordials, herbal infusions, syrups, and fermented beverages.

Beginning with a guided walk through the park, John will introduce participants to a variety of edible plants, sharing identification tips, responsible foraging practices, and their culinary, medicinal, and traditional uses. Returning to the KinShip EcoLab, participants will enjoy a demonstration and tasting of homemade floral and fruit cordials while learning simple techniques for preserving the flavours of the seasons.

The workshop will also explore the basics of fermenting wild flowers and fruits into kombucha, cordials, and other botanical drinks, offering inspiration for creating your own seasonal beverages at home.

Whether you're interested in foraging, fermentation, or simply seeing the landscape through a new lens, this workshop offers a delicious way to deepen your relationship with the plants growing all around us.
