Free On Farm - Farmer Health and Safety Training. Register for an event on a farm near you. 6 locations available across the country. On Farm Health and Safety Events : Saturday August 15th (11am-1pm), Johnstown, Kildare Thursday August 27th (11am-1pm), Rathcormac, Cork Sunday August 30th (11am-1pm), Enniscorthy, Wexford Friday Septmeber 4th (11am-1pm), Ballinlough, Roscommon Thursday September 10th (6.30pm-8.30pm), Athenry, Galway Wednesday Septmeber 30th (11am-1pm), Mountnugent, Cavan ALL are 'Health and Safety for Social Farming and Farm Open Days and Events' offers a series of Health and Safety training sessions to farmers to promote best practice and bring more awareness and to minimise risks on farms for farmers interested in social farming, having safe open days or safe events on farms. Between July and September 2026 - join us for a recurring online session or an 'on farm' session. 10 online training sessions (recurring online safety awareness - please only register for one - various time slots available) 6 on farm sessions across all regions (On farm training tickets available here) October : launch of an innovative booklet ‘Guidelines for Health and Safety for Social Farming and Farm Open Days and Events – How to have safe farm open days and events’. 'Health and Safety for Social Farming and Farm Open Days and Events' training session topics to include: Livestock handling, tractor and machine safety, working at heights, working with slurry and open tanks, awareness of children and older people on farms, looking after one's health. Training will be facilitated by Jim Dockery, owner of Towra Livestock Services, Offaly. Jim has worked for over 30 years as National Health and Safety Manager with FRS Network and has vast experience in Health and Safety in Agriculture and related businesses. Led by the Social Farming Ireland National Network based in Leitrim Development Company CLG - this project is funded by the Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine - Farmer Health, Safety and Wellbeing Project 2026. The Social Farming Ireland National Network aims to support people in living ordinary lives, interacting with their community and environment, and developing their potential on typical working farms through inclusion, integration, equality and participation.
