Discover the Gonsalves Method! Rooted in Meisner, this workshop uses fun games to help actors respond honestly and find their unique voice.

The Gonsalves Method (https:// https://www.gonsalvesmethod.com/) has been created/developed by Aileen Gonsalves (RSC, Butterfly Theatre Company) over many decades and this method has its roots in Meisner's technique, but developed further to accommodate the modern actor effectively. In this workshop we will be discovering what it means to see clearly and respond honestly from your point of view through fun games and exercises.

I first encountered the Gonsalves Method during our graduation show at AUB Acting, when Aileen came to guest-direct one of our shows. Immediately, I fell in love with this method for many reasons: it helped an actor discover the unknown waters safely, it was incredibly effective and fun when rehearsing for a play, it felt like a proper machinery where each piece is well-thought through decades of practical theatre experience and most importantly, it helped/encouraged each and every one of us find our own uniqueness, our own voice.

After graduation I studied under Aileen and became Accredited Teacher/Director with this Method. This summer (2026) I also played Puck in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' directed by her in Wales.
